Thought provoking timeless words of wisdom

It Is What You Seek

Imprisoned is the mind that searches not, encompassing preconceived prejudices and opinions. Above and beyond it is intangibly sought never to be totally reached but ever a continuation. The door it is locked, I seek the key there is fear, despair and anger yes! It ah it evades and ever eludes me life’s answer to man’s struggle for peace at best! Perhaps look within and not without each contains the message so simple! I know and feel it’s presence about, it is enclosed awaiting within our temple! Dr. Karen B. Thompson 1991

‘You need a miracle tomorrow’so here goes…Prov. 29:25

You never know when God is going to bless you!! Good things happen when you least expect them to !!!!!!!! Change the number in the subject box when you forward it by adding one!!! Dear Lord, I thank You for this day, I thank You for my being able to see and to hear this morning. I'm blessed because You are a forgiving God and an understanding God. You have done so much for me and You keep on blessing me. Forgive me this day for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you. I

Columbine Student’s Father 12 Years Later

December 24, 2012 Guess our national leaders didn't expect this. On Thursday, Darrell Scott, the father of Rachel Scott, a victim of the Columbine High School shootings in Littleton , Colorado , was invited to address the House Judiciary Committee's subcommittee. What he said to our national leaders during this special session of Congress was painfully truthful. They were not prepared for what he was to say, nor was it received well. It needs to be heard by every parent, every teacher, every politician, every sociologist, every psychologist, and every so-called expert! These courageous words spoken by Darrell Scott are

A Dog’s Prayer

By Beth Norman Harris Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me. Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me.. do. Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear. When it is cold and wet, please

Desiderata

GO PLACIDLY amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. AS FAR as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. SPEAK your truth quietly and clearly, and listen to others, even the dull and ignorant; they too have their story. AVOID loud and aggressive persons; they are vexations to the spirit. IF you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. ENJOY your achievements as well as your plans. KEEP interested in your own career, however humble; it

To Border Collie Buyers: Educate Yourself

It’s Not “All In How You Raise Them”: The Role Of Genetics In Behavior

Conventional wisdom says that young puppies come to us as blank slates. Full of promise and limitless potential, ready to be molded into your ideal companion as long as you do your part – provide lots of love, the right amount of discipline, and appropriate training along the way. If you’re a caring, responsible pet owner, there’s no reason that your puppy should not grow up to be a model canine citizen.

Two Days

There are two days in every week about which we should not worry, two days which should be kept from fear and apprehension. One of these days is yesterday, with it's mistakes and cares, it's faults and blunders, it's aches and pains. Yesterday has passed forever beyond our control. All the money in the world cannot bring back yesterday. We cannot erase a single word we said. Yesterday is beyond recall. The other day we should not worry about is tomorrow, with it's possible adversities, it's burdens, it's large promises, and perhaps its poor performance. Tomorrow is also beyond our

Just a dog

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog." They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog." Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog." Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted. Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort

A True Story

By Malcolm Forbes 'People will forget what you said, People will forget what you did. But people will never forget how you made them feel'. May each of us heed the message of the following, and strive whenever possible to help change today's too often outburst of violence:

The Gingham Dress

A lady in a faded gingham dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun threadbare suit, stepped off the train in Boston, and walked timidly without an appointment in to the Harvard University President's outer office. The secretary could tell in a moment that such backwoods, country hicks had no business at Harvard and probably didn't even deserve to be in Cambridge. 'We'd like to see the president,' the man said softly. 'He'll be busy all day,' the secretary snapped. 'We'll wait,' the lady replied. For hours the secretary ignored them, hoping that the couple would finally become discouraged and
